Coaching Staff
Bryan Tucker, Head Varsity Coach, was named in April and comes to Barrington after eight years as head basketball coach at Loyola Academy.  Previously, he served as head coach at Marian Catholic High School from 1996 to 2001 and assistant varsity/head sophomore basketball coach at Marist High School and Brother Rice High School from 1988 to 1996.  Coach Tucker has a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame and a master's degree from Chicago State University.  Coach Tucker accumulated an impressive 238-124 overall record during his 13 years as a head coach at both Loyola Academy and Marian Catholic High School, including 11 consecutive winning seasons dating back to 1998.  His teams accomplished a string of championships, including three conferences, five regionals, one sectional and numerous tournaments.  He has four "Coach of the Year" awards to his credit.  Coach Tucker currently resides in Gurnee.

Brian Hare, Assistant Varsity Coach, went to St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights.  He was a 3 year starter for football and basketball, two time all state in football and 3 time all area.  Brian was a pre-season all American and was a first team all area for basketball and special mention all state.  He played baseball his senior year and was football’s Cook County athlete of the year in 2002.  Brian went to Pima Community College in Tucson, AZ, where he was a 2 year starter and 2 year all American for football.  He then went onto Purdue University where he played football and still holds a record in the Sun Bowl for the longest TD score (80 yards) in Sun Bowl history.  From Purdue, Brian played for the Indianapolis Colts for 2 years, as well as NFL Europe.  He recently married Kristen Fanning and lives in Barrington with their 2 dogs, Lily and Lola.

Joe Molloy, Head Sophomore Coach, begins his sixth season with the basketball program.  He is also an English teacher at the high school.  Coach Molloy played basketball at St. Viator High School and the University of Illinois – Chicago.  His coaching experience includes Varsity Assistant at St. Viator High School from 1992-1999, and Head Varsity Coach at Carmel High School from 2000/2001- 2003/2004.  Joe and his wife, Liz, have been married for 17 years, and have one son, Joseph, and dogs, Barkley and Payton.

Derek Gablenz, Assistant Sophomore Coach, begins his seventh season on the Broncos basketball staff.  While growing up, his late father was the head basketball coach at Hoffman Estates.  He has long had a passion for the game and enjoys competition.  He was raised in Crystal Lake and was active in sports.   Mr. Gablenz joined the U.S. Army where he served overseas in Germany and Saudi Arabia.  He later graduated from Western Illinois University.  He has coached basketball and tennis most of his teaching career.  He teaches U.S. History, is married and has three children.
 
Tim Martin, Head Freshman Coach (red), enters his fourth season coaching with the Barrington High School basketball program after working as a high school assistant coach the previous six years in the DuPage Valley Conference.  Coach Martin has coached numerous travel, feeder and summer league basketball teams.  In his tenth year as an educator, counselor, and coach, he is in his fourth year as a Guidance Counselor at Barrington High School.  After receiving undergraduate degrees in Political Science, History and Secondary Education/Social Studies from Wheaton College, Coach Martin earned his Master's Degree in School Counseling from National-Louis University.  Last fall, Tim completed his second Master's Degree in School Leadership from Concordia University.

Wayne Madura, Head Freshmen Coach (white), joins the coaching staff this year.  He played basketball and baseball at Weber High School, Chicago, and earned degrees from Northeastern Illinois University and National Lewis University.  His vast athletic experience includes coaching baseball and basketball for over 25 years as well as a junior high school Physical Education teacher.
